Make Your Mark Through the Arts! 

High School Seniors and Current College Students majoring or minoring in an ARTS discipline, Apply for the $500 Tucker Family for the Arts (TFFA) Scholarship today.


  • About The Scholarship

    The Tucker Family Foundation for the Arts (TFFA) was created in 2008 to honor the life and vision of Allison C. Tucker, Sr., educator, musician extraordinaire, and advocate for the Arts in the southern sector of Dallas, Texas. The foundation provides experiences, enrichment, understanding, and appreciation for various forms of artistic expression within the Performing and Visual Arts arena. TFFA targets people of color in underserved communities, providing educational outreach through scholarship opportunities. Under the leadership of Allison C. Tucker Jr. and The Silent Partner, TFFA also provides donations to non-profit entities of the Arts to benefit programs for youth. 


    The Southern Metroplex (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is pleased to partner with this outstanding organization to provide this scholarship opportunity to students in our service area.

  • Scholarship Information

    • Five $500 scholarships will be awarded. 
    • Applicants will be screened by the Southern Metroplex (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Arts Committee. 
    • Applications are considered complete if all required documents are received by the deadline. 
    • All required documents must be submitted via email by March 17, 2024 - SMTXLINKSPROGRAMS@GMAIL.COM.
    • Winners must be willing to share a picture and agree to be posted in the Southern Metroplex (TX) Links and The Tucker Family Foundation’s marketing materials.
    • Applications will be accepted from February 1 – March 17, 2024
  • Scholarship Elibility

    1. Applicants must be a 2024 graduating high school senior OR a current college student. 


    2. The applicants’ permanent address must be in one of the following cities:  


    Cedar Hill

    Duncanville

    DeSoto

    Glenn Heights

    Grand Prairie

    Kennedale

    Lancaster

    Mansfield 

    Midlothian

    Oak Leaf

    Ovilla

    Red Oak

    South Arlington


    3. Applicants must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time and study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. 


    4. Applicants must have achieved a cumulative 2.7 GPA or higher. 


    5. Applicants must plan to pursue a major OR minor in Fine Arts, Performing or Visual Arts.

Join the Southern Metroplex Chapter of the Links, Inc. on Saturday, May 6, at 10:30 am to explore, discuss and celebrate Black women's identity, beauty, culture, and humanity, uniquely expressed through the stories of our hair. This FREE EVENT is in partnership with the City of DeSoto Parks and Recreation Department and will be held at The Corner Theater.
